What we do?

The scientists of the Netherlands Institute for Neuroscience are among the best researchers in the Netherlands. They publish their results in the leading scientific journals. It is brain research at the highest level. Unfortunately, there is little money available from the government for fundamental research. As a result, researchers spend a lot of time applying for grants, and less time is left for research. That is why Prof. Dick Swaab founded the Friends Foundation in 1986. Thanks to this foundation, the researchers can focus on groundbreaking brain research. In addition, the foundation provides financial resources for the purchase of materials.
